There’s a hidden gem, right in the middle of Southport. It’s a brand new community garden on Ewan Street! There used to be a community garden at the same spot, but due to circumstances it had to close down. Today a new team is rebuilding the gardens so that this new community of growers can flourish again! Let’s give them a hand while they get up and running. Will you join?
THE WORK
You’ll be filling garden beds with soil, there’s some weeding to be done and if time allows, we can help free up space that’s currently filled with dirt and soil. The work is not difficult but does require a bit of muscle and sweat so make sure you are wearing clothes that can get dirty and you bring plenty of energy!
Note: this is an outdoor project and volunteers should be mindful of the weather conditions. Bring plenty of water and use appropriate sun protection.
THIS PROJECT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUNG KIDS, HOWEVER…TEENS ARE MOST WELCOME!
